I can identify a farmer with straw hat

Form

The sketch contains a man standing, as we can see in the sketch the man looks to me a farm worker. Composition is made of ink, paper. He used a lot of types of line ranging from short and longer ones among little dots.

Process

Van Gogh is said to be a pioneer in using the impasto technique. Van Gogh used impasto not just to add dimension to his paintings but to add emotion and movement. We see this movement in the swirling clouds of Wheat Field with Cypresses and Starry Night. Also he used ink on a black sheet of paper. The style that he used  is : Post-Impressionism for this sketch.

Opinion

Van Gogh wanted to represent any one from the parts of the society in his work. There were times that only the rich and powerful has poritais of their own made, and he as an independent painter is really great, and changed a lot of minds and stereotypes.  And for that i like it.
