Zorbing
- the latest
adventure experience
A zorb is (1) hollow plastic ball, about three
metres in height. You climb into the ball and then
roll down (2) the hill inside it. (3) A first zorb was
built by (4) an organisation called
(5) A Dangerous Sports Club. The idea was
developed in (6) the New Zealand in (7) late
1990s, and is now spreading rapidly throughout
(8) world.
There are two different types of zorb, a dry
zorb and a wet zorb. With (9) the dry zorb, you
are strapped into (10) the harness inside the ball.
The zorb can reach speeds of 50 to 60 kph.
The wet zorb is totally different. With this one,
you are not strapped in and you are encouraged
to stand up and try to run as (11) a ball rolls
down the hill. (12) The challenge is to remain
upright all the way to (13) bottom. This sounds
easy, so to make things (14) a little harder, they
throw some warm soapy water inside, so things
get very slippery. People say it feels a bit like
being in (15) washing machine!
