We use:

• WHO / WHOM / THAT to refer to people;
• WHICH / THAT to refer to objects or animals;
• WHOSE to refer to people or objects when we show possession;
• WHO / WHICH or THAT can be omitted only if they don't act as the subject in their clause;
• WHOSE is never omitted;

1) The man whose wife is a teacher entered the school.

2) The pen that you lent me isn't writing.

3) I bought a CD that was terribly scratched.

4) The kid who won the game is my son.

5) She is the reporter whose camcorder broke.
