We all know that plants turn carbon dioxide into oxygen. We also know very well that we need oxygen to live. However, little plants do not supply us with as much oxygen as we need. Most of our oxygen is supplied by forests. In order to preserve oxygen in the air, and, implicitly, our own lives, we need to make sure that we have, at all times, a certain area of forests, big enough to sustain us and all animals.
I am a reader and I love the smell of a book nearly as much as it's story, but I am happy the e-books have been invented. That makes easier to keep the forests and air.
I know that a big amount of wood is still used for fire during winters. However, I am hoping that people use wood from old, almost dead trees, while planting new ones. After all, the forests maintain a balance of the air and all of us alive.
