1) Celebrations usually have an important role in one’s life. They are bringers of joy, being a time when the family gets together. They make one realize the passing of time and their personal growth and achivements - which can often be bittersweet. Celebrations bring the community closer together, leaving prejudice and bias outside of these special times.
2) Celebrating a birthday is closely related to celebrating your life and achivements, as well as hopes for the future.
3) The celebrations a community takes part in depends of many factors (such as geographical area and religion). The most important celebrations in my community are Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Easter, birthdays and even name days.
4) One difference I can think of is Christmas. One important custom is carolling. From a young age, children go from door to door and sing traditional carols to spread the joy of the birth of Jesus Christ.
5) By celebrating different events, a community groes stronger. These experiences are what bring people together. They create an over-all feeling of well-being and happiness, as well as the feeling of belonging.
