In my opinion, sometimes math really is a complete waste of time, because besides base math, most of it doesn't help you much at all in life, if you whould like to learn more math you can always focus on it in the future, but if you whould like to focus on other subjects, you should only need the base of maths. A lot of students are very pressured by math, because they want to follow their passions in life, so they do not want to focus on math so much, but they don't have much of a choice. They are obliged by the scool to study math and follow their passion at the same time. Of course there are some exceptions when you can go to a private school that is focusing more on your passion.
