Once upon a time there was a merchant who had two sons and two daughters. They lived in a beautiful village in a forest. Whenever he went to town to sell his goods, he used to buy his children the gifts that they asked for, but the eldest daughter never asked for anything. The only thing she wanted was for her father to return home safely. However, one day she asked her father to bring her a rose. Unfortunately, the ship was destroyed and he could not buy anything and the bad weather determined him to spend the night in a castle he met on the way. Entering it, the man shouted but no one answered him. Being extremely tired, he slept for a few hours and when he woke up, he served the food that he found on a plate in front of him. Walking in the garden, he noticed some beautiful roses but just as he wanted to take one for his daughter, he was seen by the owner of the castle, a scary beast who wanted to kill him.The man fell on his knees in front of him, asking for his forgiveness. The condition to be forgiven was that one of his daughters would become the beast's wife. Although at first he did not agree, in the end the man accepted and went home to tell his children all these things.
