Mai mult, calculatorul devine un mijloc de intervenţie directă în organizarea situaţiilor de învăţare, preluând o serie de sarcini legate de organizarea activităţilor scolare. Sau, calculatorul poate îndeplini un rol tutorial, ajutând elevii să progreseze mai rapid şi cu rezultate mai bune. Calculatorul poate fi considerat astfel un mijloc de informare, de exersare, de simulare, de aplicare şi de consolidarea cunoştinţelor, deosebit de util în procesul educaţional.
Însă instruirea asistata de calculator îi oferă profesorului disponibilităţi de timp şi posibilităţi de a folosi acest timp ocupându-se mai mult de organizarea învăţării, de structurarea conţinuturilor, de exersarea gândirii la elevi, de stimularea creativităţii acestora, aspecte adeseori neglijate până acum. Deci folosirea calculatoarelor in scoli este utila atat pentru elev cat si pentru profesor.
