House can be building in which someone lives. A home can refer either to a building or to any location that a person thinks of as the place where she/he lives and that belongs to her/him. Home can be a castle or an apartment or a house but also a shack or a tent or a cave as long as it is that special place where you feel safe and comfortable, that is is filled with your most precious memories or where your loved ones are. So you can leave in a house but if you don't have/feel all that is not the place that you would call home.
