The full proverb sounds like:'' Speech is silver .Silence is golden.'' All toghether meaning that it is often better to remain quiet and not say anything . One should think before uttering words .
We , humans, have tendency to talk more and to listen less , the main cause of it is that we have forgotten the art of waiting and allowing ourselves to listen to other points of view . Also , there are times when silence becomes the moste potential way of communication and it's more effective then words.
In my opinion , silence requires a special kind of power and authority of mind , because staing silent is way more difficult to do then expressing anfer , happiness , love betrayal in words.
