Observaţii:
(a) Past Tense Simple - timpul trecut simplu exprimă o acţiune încheiată înainte de momentul vorbirii. Forma de Past Tense Simple este forma a doua a verbelor.
Exemple:
to do - did - done (vb. neregulat)
to make - made - made (vb. neregulat)
to finish - finished - finished (vb. regulat)
(b) Time adverbials (expresii adverbiale de timp) folosite cel mai frecvent în asociere cu Past Tense Simple sunt: in (September, 2017), (four years/months/days) ago, "last (month/week/Tuesday), yesterday.
