• Verbele la Present Simple indică o acțiune care are loc în prezent și este cu caracter general. De obicei, indicii de timp sunt: sometimes, often, seldom.
• Present Continuous exprimă o acțiune la prezent care se desfășoară în momentul vorbirii. Indicii de timp sunt: now, at this moment, at the moment.
• Past Simple este un timp care exprimă o acțiune trecută și încheiată complet în trecut. Ca indici de timp, avem: yesterday, last week/month/year, ago.
• Passive voice (diateza pasivă) se formează din verbul „a fi” la Present Tense, Past Tense, Future, Present Perfect etc + participiul trecut al verbului de conjugat.

Exemplu: The child was beaten by his schoolmates yesterday. (Ieri, copilul a fost bătut de colegii lui).
