My ideal city ... would have cool summer mornings with a smell of rain. In my ideal city it would not be traffic and you could travel in peace with everything you like: a car, a bicycle, a trolley or a tricycle. Somewhere along the wide streets, with wide and well-shaded sidewalks of old trees. There are various venues, bistros with steaming pastry and fresh coffee, or small shops. I do not know if I would greet everyone, for it is a big city, but people would look quiet, with the smile of some who do not hurry anywhere, on the contrary, they have all the time in the world, and that is also time of stories and "politeness." The city of my dreams is an entire metropolis, but one with libraries, theaters, shops of all kinds, a great stadium for concerts, bookstores. In my ideal city it would be clean and a lot, a lot of civilization. No posters on the pillars and banners on the buildings, but with many flowers and benches. No shrill noises, with much quiet and maybe chirping by the birds. No pits and bumps, just with straight pavements and perfectly paved streets. No sewage pipes and air conditioning dripping in the head of passers-by, but with many artesian fountains and cisterns. No traffic, but with many car parks. No dust, misery, and ruins. I would especially like to open the window at large in the morning, to let in my room smell of summer and sea rain and watch how quietly a quiet bicyclist passes on my lap ....
