Ah, Christmas. The time of the year in which every family feels happiness in their hearts. And the perfect day of Christmas, for any kid, would be to sit with the family at the table, and to look outside and see only white sparkling snowflakes slowly dancing in the thin, cold air.
I can still remember last Christmas like it was yesterday. I woke up in the morning and, when I opened the door to the kitchen, the sweet scent of cinnamon was spreading into the whole house as my mom was getting out freshly baked gingerbread and that alone just put a smile on my face and the holiday feeling in my heart. I turned over to the living room, and there I saw my dad making the finishing touches on the sparkling, shining Christmas tree. After he let me put the most important detail on the tree, the shining golden star at the top, I opened the window to let some fresh air in and what I saw almost felt too good to be true: everything outside was white, from the frosted ground and benches to the snow-covered trees and flowers. I stood there for a second, still not believing what my eyes were seeing: the perfect Christmas I've wanted for so long actually came true!
That day was perfect, just like I imagined it. Everyone gathered at the full table and enjoyed themselves. Of course, Santa didn't forget about the presents that year either! He got me (aici pui tu ce ti-a luat Mos Craciun anul trecut), exactly what I wanted!
