In most years the meaning of the holiday is religious, which we also know. the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ. In most countries Christmas is celebrated on December 25 or 26, but in some countries the holiday is celebrated a few days or even weeks before. In Greece, people go to church at 4 in the morning and then share some food with the family, such as honey, dried fruits and Christ's Bread. In Italy the traditions differ from one region to another, in the north the gifts are brought by Santa Claus or Little Jesus and in other parts by Santa Lucia. The traditional food differs depending on the area, in France we eat turkey with chestnuts and goose. In the north of Italy, pork is preferred and in the south, beef. In Sweden, fish, beans and ham are eaten.
