Stereotypes
I think the most know stereotype of romanians is that we are vampires just because a long time ago, Vlad Dracul or 'Dracula' was a cruel Voivode of Wallachia, and some people think that he would drink the blood of his enemies. Mostly americans know us because of that fact. A lot of countries know us as gypsies although we are not. Some people from our country think that we are good drinkers and I can't deny it. Other say that we cuss a lot but we make such delicious food that it doesn't even matter. I honestly think that most of us are kind and friendly.

Cerința îmi este cam neclară deci mai jos ai un eseu scurt despre stereotipurile străinilor în legătură cu România.
A stereotype is a distorted general image of a people, country or social group. Stereotypes are clearly shaped by public opinion, being preconceived, simplistic ideas, accepted without reflection. In my opinion, Romania is a highly stereotyped country around the world.
For example, one famous stereotype is that Romania is the country of Dracula, whereas the truth differs a lot. While it is true that the legendary vampire was inspired by Vlad the Impaler, one of the cruellest Wallachian rulers, Dracula was created by Bram Stoker, an Irish author. Regarding vampires, foreigners seem to think that we, Romanians, hang garlic throughout our homes to fend off vampires. This is obviously just a misconception, as in reality there are no vampires.
One last prejudice is that Romania is an unsafe place to travel to. Foreigners think that gipsies will pickpocket, or even worse, mug you and that murderers lurk at every corner. In reality, Romania is a place with a relatively low crime rate. All these stereotypes damage the reputation of Romanians abroad and the common image of our country.
In conclusion, the opinions of people who have not documented themselves on a matter can negatively affect its common perception.
