Paul has never been to Italy, but he has recently started corresponding with a girl named Lorella, from Verona. She has been studying English for five years now and is really enthusiastic about this language. Last year, Lorella spent three weeks in Totnes, in the south-west of England, and attended a full-immersion course. Paul and Lorella have been exchanging e-mails almost every day for the past two months. He's going to Italy next July, so he has booked a low-cost flight from Manchester to Venice. He will then take a train to Verona. It won't be Paul's first time abroad. When he was a child, he used to spend every summer in Malaga with his grandparents, who had bought a flat there after retiring.
