Making it to the top in pop !
Meet Supersonico. Pablo, Silvia, Carlos and Pepe are from Argentina and well on their way to fame. 'We live in Cordoba but we're taking part in an international music festival here in London.' The festival is their first break on the international music scene. Understandably , the band is elated. 'We're very excited that people enjoy our music, ' says Carlos. 'We're making a record in a studio over here and we're meeting a lot of other musicians from around the world.' And on top of all that , they're going to appear on the number one British pop programme , Live Wire.
But , like most other new bands on the pop scence , Supersonico have had to work hard and wait for a long time to be 'discovered'.It's a long , hard way to the top,' says Silvia. 'We often play in clubs , but music doesn't pay enough. Not yet, anyway ! So we all have jobs.' Carlos and Pablo teach at a local school, Silvia helps at her parents' shop and Pepe works as a builder.
In addition , they do backing music for established singers whenever they can . Last year , after years of gigs around the country, they won a competition on a TV programme. The prize ? A chance to make a single. The record did well in the charts and things are looking good for them. The group don't have a manager. 'We can't afford one ! ' says Carlos. So they take turns looking after the business side of things. On this trip, Silvia is acting as singer and manager, Pablo is organising the recording studios, and Pepe is making contacts with producers and record companies and arranging the TV recording. That's why we aren't all here right now.' explains Silvia. 'Pablo's visiting a recording studio and Pepe's at a meeting with the producer of Live Wire. They're discussing tomorrow's recording.
Is language a problem ? ' Not at all, ' says Silvia . 'We usually sing in our own language, Spanish . Music is an international language. You don't have to sing in English for people to appreciate your music.'
Pablo disagress: 'People expect good pop bands to record in English. We have to write at least a few songs in English to be popular.'
Well , we'll have to wait and see. At the moment , in English or Spanish , Supersonico look like being a winner.

Ajungand sus in pop !
Cunoastei pe Supersonico. Pablo ,Silvia Carlos si Pepe sunt din Argentina si au mers pe drumul faimei. Suntem din Cordoba dar luam parte la un festival international de muzica aici in Londra. Festivalul este prima lor aparitie pe scena muzicii internationale. De neinteles , trupa este cunoscută.
Suntem foarte incantati ca acesti oameni le place muzica noastra. Spune Carlos. Am inregistrat aici intr-un studio si am cunoscut multi artisti din intreaga lume. Cel mai importat dintre toate este faptul ca ei vor aparea pe canalul de pop nr. 1 din Anglia. Live Wire.
Dar ca si celelalte trupe de muzica pop, Supersonico au trebuit sa munceasca mult si sa astepte mult timp sa fie descoperiti. Este un drum lung pana sus , spune.Sylvia. Adesea cantam in cluburi dar nu suntem platiti destul. Nu inca. Asa ca noi toti avem slujbe. Carlos si Pablo predau la o scoala locala , Silvia isi ajuta parinti cu magazinul lor iar Pepe lucreaza ca si constructor.
Din cand in cand , fac negative pentru cantareti cand pot.
Anul trecut., dupa ani de calatorii prin tara., au castigat o competite de la un canal Tv. Premiul? O sansa de a face un single. Inregistrarea a mers bine si lucrurile aratau bine pentru ei. Grupul nu avea un manager . Nu ne putem permite unul.Asa ca ei au preluat si aceasta parte a afacerii. In aceasta calatoria Silvia juca rolul de cantareata si manager , Pablo oganiza studiourile de inregistrat iar Pepe facea contact cu.producatori si companii de inregistrari. De asta suntem cu toti aici acum , spune Silvia. Pablo viziteaza un studio iar Pepe se intalneste cu.producatorul de la Live Wire. Ei discuta despre inregistrarea de maine. Este limba o.problema? Nu prea , spune Silvia. Noi obisnuim sa cantam in limba spaniola. Muzica este o limba internationala. Nu trebuie neaparat sa canti in engleza ca lumea sa-ti.placa.muzica.
Pablo nu este de acord : Lumea asteapta trupe bune de pop sa inregistreze in Anglia. Trebuie sa scrim si cateva melodii in engleza sa fim populari.
O sa astempam si o sa vedem. In acest moment in Anglia sau Spania , Supersonico arata ca fiind castigatori.
