1. because firstly it is a great way to relax, to escape from all your troubles and keep you away from thinking about a stressful situation or event, secondly reading helps you improve your vocabulary, and also helps you to develop your imagination.
2. because as you watch tv you are always connected to the whole world, you are notified about all the main events that take place daily. Also I think it is important for the children, because nowadays we have a lot of cartoons especially created for them, for example I learned basic English by watching cartoons without translation.
3. because nowadays all is related to the technology, anyone has to know how to use a computer, how to work on it.
