Outside was snowing. Big snowflakes were dancing gracefully and perfectly synchronised in the air until they were hitting the ground. It seemed like the city was sleeping, except for me. I ws lying in my bed, waiting patiently for the arrival of Santa Claus. My parents told me to go to bed and sleep, but I wanted to see the old man so badly and the excitement was boiling inside me. I wanted to thank him for all of the presents that he has given me until now, to hug him and sing Chrismas Carols until morning came. I wanted to pet his reindeers, to meet the elves that help him every year, to eat cookies and to drink milk with him. Last year, I promised myself that I'll see Santa no matter what.
I felt my eyelids heavy, and sleepiness was enveloping me in her arms full of dreams. As I closed my eyes, I heard a subtle bell ringing in the distance, somewhere in the black night sky and I smiled. I wasn't able to see you this year, Santa Claus, but I'll see you next year for sure.
