This quote describes how beauty should be perceived. Unfortunately, society's idea of beauty is superficial , ephemeral and inaccurate . Media is impregnating the false concept of beauty, especially in young minds, in order to take advantage of them . Most people will say that this doesn't actually matter. However, the way we perceive beauty influences our values , goals and overall success.
The truth is that inner beauty matters more than appearance. External beauty will not affect other people in a positive way. On the other hand, a creative mind determined to change the world , a willingness to help the disadvantaged and an overall kind and positive personality will have a huge impact on the people around us as well as ourselves . Inner beauty fulfills your life and other's, therefore, you should strive to better yourself morally and spiritually rather than focus only on physical appearance.
