Compared to the living conditions of children in 2000, the proportion of children who do not live with their parents has increased. In 2000, 84% of children under 15 lived with both parents. Ten percent lived with their mother alone, even though their father was alive; 3% lived only with their father, although their mother was alive and 2% did not live with either parent. In total, 4 percent of children under 15 had at least one parent deceased (MICS 2000). Although the values in the 2000 sample were estimated according to a sample that also included the Transnistrian region, the differences are large enough to eventually lead to an increase and, probably, a substantial increase in the percentage of children who do not live. with their parents. Further research, as well as the development of the program for Moldovan children, which are left by migrant parents, is in progress because this trend seems to be growing, which deserves more attention (see, e.g., Bacalu, 2004; Dubrovschi, 2004; Ghencea and Gugumac, 2004; Gonta, 2004; and Salaru, 2004). The living conditions of children not only or deteriorated after 2000, they are among the worst in the region. Compared to the estimates of recent Demographic and Health Studies conducted in other Eastern European countries and Eurasia, in Moldova fewer children live with both parents, compared to other countries in the region: in Armenia (1999) - 10% of children with between the ages of 015 and I do not live with my mother or father; in Kazakhstan (1999), 19%; in the Kyrgyz Republic (1997) - 15%; in Turkmenistan (2000) - 12%; and in Uzbekistan - 7% (ORC Macro, 2005).
