Dickens was forced to give up his happy childhood and move to London because his father was imprisoned for debt and his family was forced to live in prison with him.

The massive change in his circumstances when he got there were caused by him being sent to wrok in a dirty depressing warehouse and getting separated from  his family that was forced to live in prison with his father.

I think that the system of imprisoning of man's family with him isn't a great one, because everyone should be able to choose for themselves, everyone should have the freedom to decide if they want to do something or not.
