Alexandru Ionuț Velea, professionally known as Alex Velea, is a singer, television star and composer of pop and manele music in Romania, winner of the Star Factory competition.
After winning the Star Factory contest-show in late 2003 and participating in Big Brother, Alex collaborated with Anna Lesko on a song from the special edition of her album, For You. A collaboration with Anda Adam followed for her second solo album, Confidential. The song, entitled "What would you do (Selecta)" was a great success in Romania, being often broadcast on music stations. His debut album, entitled Yamasha, was released in the fall of 2006, and it is a statement from Alex: "These songs reveal me in front of the public ... This is me ... I tried to put thoughts on the notes, feelings, feelings ... 'Yamasha' represents me. " For this album, Alex collaborated with Smiley, Puya, Marius Moga, Connect-R, Matteo and Don Baxter. Four songs were promoted from the album: "Yamasha", "Dragoste la prima vedere" (feat. Connect-R), "Când sunt cu tine" (feat. Mandinga) and "Doamna mea". Yamasha brought him the title of "Best show", "Best male" and "Best new artist" at the Romanian Music Awards.
In 2009, Alex released the songs "Doar ea" and "Secret". Also in 2009, Alex joined the production team of Radio Killer, under the name of Crocodealer, one of the seven killers. In the same year, Alex also made his debut on the big screens, in the film production "Un film Simplu", where he played a negative role.
He also released the hit of 2010 "Don't say it's over", a hit whose video had a choreography that generated the biggest flashmob in Romania. It took place in Constitution Square in Bucharest, in June 2010.
