Celebrities are not born. They are made.

They are the idols the media and public relations have created.

There are various reasons why we idolize, follow and want to know more about people, whom we consider to be celebrities.

1. we consider them as important, powerful or famous, and because a great number of people know about them.

2. most people have an unconscious desire to be famous and popular, even if they do not admit it openly. When they adore people who are famous and popular, they feel that they associate with them, and a part of their lives.

3. following them on Instagram and other social networks, makes us feel that that we are participating and taking part in their glory.

4.We love to watch pretty people, who wear pretty clothes. We love to watch people doing things or going to places we cannot afford.

5.There is natural curiosity about other people’s lives, especially about people who are rich, powerful or famous. Subconsciously, we want to be like them. We want to learn what they do, what they eat and where they go.

Celebrities are ordinary people, like you and me. They eat, drink, sleep, think and feel like everyone else. The only difference between you and them is that they appear on the media. They are famous and you are not.

Celebrities are just people, like everyone else. They have their ups and downs, fears and happy moments, success and failure, like “ordinary” people.

Celebrity worship, at its heart, seems to fill something in a person's life. It gives them a sense of identity, a sense of self. It feeds a psychological need. So in other words, we love celebrities because they are an integral part of culture. They have made it in the worldview we are so entrenched in. There is nothing wrong to admire successful people, who exemplify the best of their talents and virtues. People can learn from their success or look to them for inspiration. However, problems arise when the admiration becomes excessive, obsessive or abnormal. Obsession or infatuation with celebrities is a major social and psychological problem in many countries, especially among the youth. Celebrities and successful people can be a source of inspiration to all of us. We can learn from them to improve ourselves and our efforts to achieve peace and happiness. However, in the process we should never forget that we cannot be them or live their lives as if they are our own. We are the most important people in our lives, and we cannot engage in a one-sided relationship to feel good about ourselves or take pride in someone else’s achievements. Instead of wasting our time and resources on celebrity personalities, we should pay attention to the important people in our lives, love them, care for them and strengthen our relationship with them. We must accept who we are, admire the best qualities in others and move on with our lives in search of our own fulfillment, peace and happiness.
