"Yes, I know about the kangaroos. Th ebaby kangaroo measures only 2.5 cm at birth and it is carried in the mother's pouch for 6 to 8 months. They are such cute animals!"
"Right! Half of the world's species of marsupials are found only in Australia. Other Austraian marsupials include wombats and koalas. I love the koalas! They have such a pleasant face!They live, eat and sleep in the branches of eucalyptus trees and they only come down to move to another tree. They eat eucalyptus leaves. Annie, what strange animals do you like?"
"Well, Christine, I am always excited about learning more about the Tasmanian devil. Unfortunately, they are extinct in Australia, but a few can be found in remote parts of Tasmania."
