Pastele este cea mai importanta sarbatoare crestina a anului. De Pasti se sarbatoreste Invierea lui Iisus Hristos, fiul lui Dumnezeu. Duminica - a treia zi dupa Scripturi- femeile purtatoare de mir au gasit mormantul gol. Mormantul era gol pentru ca Hristos Inviase.

Din cele mai vechi timpuri religia s-a împletit cu tradiţia , datina şi obiceiurile , pe care omul le-a respectat şi le-a transmis ulterior prin viu grai din generaţie în generaţie, astfel înţelepciunea şi experienţa celor mai vechi strămoşi ajunge la noi sub forma obiceiurilor din viaţa celor de la ţară , fiind purtătoarele unor informaţii , a unei experienţe şi înţelepciuni vechi.
Satele noastre româneşti au rămas din fericire cele care păstrază tradiţia străveche, un exemplu în acest sens fiind obiceiurile legate de Sfânta Sărbătoare a Învierii Domnului din săptămâna premergătoare Sfintelor Paşti. Ultima duminică din Postul mare semnifică Intrarea Domnului Iisus Hristos în cetatea Ierusalimului.
De Florii , cum sunt denumite în popor, se face dezlegare la peşte, se fac pomeniri, se sapă mormintele şi se decorează porţile şi casele cu ramuri de salcie, pe care credincioşii le aduc da le biserică. O semnificaţie foarte importantă o are Joia Mare din Săptămâna Patimilor. Din această zi, ţăranii încetează lucrul la câmp şi se concentrează asupra casei și curţii, pentru ca totul să fie curat. Tot în Joia Mare, femeile încep să pregătească pasca şi să vopsească ouăl. Un alt obicei cu o semnificaţie aparte o are Vinerea Mare In fiecare an, când coborâm ȋn mormant, impreuna cu Hristos, pentru ca, mai apoi, sa si inviem impreuna cu El. Aceasta coborare si ridicare din groapa mortii se face in chip simbolic, prin trecerea pe sub masa aflata in mijlocul bisericii, pe care sta intins trupul mort al lui Iisus Hristos, intiparit pe Sfantul Epitaf. Sfantul Epitaf este un obiect de cult confectionat din panza de in, matase sau catifea, pe care se afla imprimata sau pictata icoana punerii in mormant a Domnului Iisus Hristos
