Christians celebrate Christmas, the feast of the Nativity, every year on December 25. There are many traditions and customs related to this event, and although some of them have been replaced, many others have been preserved. Here are the most beloved Christmas traditions and customs.
Before the eve, on the night of December 23 to 24, in some areas of the country, the eve meal is held for the souls of the dead, with fasting food to which the priest is invited to taste and bless them.
Also during this period, the Christmas carols begin, announcing the Nativity. Tradition says that God left the carols on earth especially to save us from our sins, and when they are no longer heard, the devils will come to earth.
Carolers are rewarded with specific pretzels, apples, nuts and cakes, called "Christ's diapers", but more recently the world is also offering money. Even at Christmas table it is good to listen to carols, because they bring harmony in the relationships between people and abundance in homes and in the fields.
