I spent the Easter at my friend's family, in Greece. They have a very big residence so they had many guests. Some of them were familiar; I knew them from when we were kids,but most of them were strangers. I didn't want to be an ordinary guest, so I offered my friend's mother to help her paint the eggs. She is very religious, so, as the tradition says, we had to paint them red. As long as they were good to eat, there was no problem for me. I helped her set the table with all the cutlery. She brought the lamb, but before anyone could eat, we had to pray. We sat down, we ate some sponge cake (cozonac) and we enjoyed the rest of the evening. In Greece, they have this Greece soup which contains lamb kidney. It was very good. At midnight, everybody left. They went to church , they ate holy bread and drank holy water, and then headed back home. The priest came to clean the house from the bad spirits, giving us some candles afterwords. We couldn't blow the candles out, because of the tradition in which you have to get light so God could enter your house knowing there is no bad spirit. It was a pleasure spending my Easter with my friend's family, especially in Greece.
