There was only one thing I could do. I would have had to do everything in order for Ann not to return home that moment. I knew she was finishing work around 12 pm that day. So was Stacy. So I called her. She knew right away what was about. I asked her nicely if she could call Ann and invite her for a cup of coffee under the pretext to catch up on things. That could not fail. Ann could spend hours talking about everything and everybody. So from that moment Stacy became my complice in crime.
Backhome the kids were playing in the garden so they had no ideea about what was going on in the house. Was a sunny day that day and quite hot outside so I allowed them to stay by the pool. Once they start playing in the water there no way to get them outside so I did not have to wory about them entering the house. They are terrible at keeping secrets.
And yes alot of secrets had to be kept and things to be done but I had to be sure everything would be perfect by the time she returns. By 5 pm the things were ready so I called Stacy and told her to pick up Ted as well and pass by our place.
Ann was already becoming suspicious. When she arrived home all lights were turned off. It was so quiet and normally the kids were screaming and running all over the place. So she opened the door and
"Surprise!" Screamed everybody. Was Ann surprised? Ofcourse she was. It should have been on Saturday the party for her birthday. But John wanted to do a small trip the very next day so he thought of having the party a day before.
