Global Positioning System is a global satellite navigation system and radio waves. The global positioning system is a global navigation system and radio waves. The GPS system is a network of satellites that are orbiting around the Earth at fixed locations above the planet, sending signals to all the ground receivers. These signals contain a time code and a geographic data point that allow the user to receive the exact position, speed, and time in any region on the planet. GPS works in any weather, anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day. The main GPS satellite positioning system is the US military system called "Navigational Satellite Timing and Ranging" (NAVSTAR). This system, initiated and conducted by the United States Department of Defense (DOD), can calculate the exact position = the exact geographic coordinates of an object on the Earth's surface, provided it is equipped with the required device - a GPS receiver. NAVSTAR uses the WGS84 geodetic system, to which all the geographic coordinates calculated by the system refer. Currently, the GPS system is used in many areas, aviation and marine, finding routes for drivers, creating maps, seismic research, climate studies, treasure hunting, etc. The object can also be a person who can thus orient himself on the earth, on water, in the air or in space (near the Earth).
