Sightseeing in London

A couch full of tourists is driving through London on a sightseeing tour. Mr. Fisher, the guide, is talking to the tourists.

Mr. Fisher: On the left you have a good view of the Tower of London. Tower Bridge and the River Thames.

Forty heads are looking to the left.

Mr. Fisher: This is Trafalgar Square. On the right you can see Nelson”s Column.

Now forty heads are looking to the right.

Mr Fisher: Here are the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Listen, the clock”s striking the hour.

Everybody is listening.

Mr. Fisher: And here you can see Westminster Abbey. This church is nine hundred years old. Don”t forget to take a picture.

Forty cameras are clicking.

Mr Fisher: Now we”re in front of the Buckingham Palace. Hurry up and watch the Changing of the Guard. You can buy postcards over there.

Everybody is getting off the coach.

Half and hour later the visitors are back in the coach. The coach leaves Buckingham Palace, and they drive to Piccadilly.

Mr Fisher: Here we are at the Piccadilly Circus. Look at all the adverts on the left. Everything from drinks to chewing-gum.

Forty heads are looking to the left.

Now the tour is over.

Mr Fisher: Thank you, sir.

Thank you, madam. Thanks, Miss. Oh, thank you very much, sir. Many thanks....

Now Mr Fisher is in a pub.

Mr Fisher: Let me see 4,75 pounds. Time for a drink now. Sightseeing makes you thrsty. Cheers!!!
