Eight people were killed in an accident after the vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck near Powat Bridge on Thursday.
The victims were on their way to Anandpur Sahib from Moga to pay obeisance when they met with the accident.According to the reports, the car in which the victims were travelling collided with the truck coming from opposite direction at around 8 am. The impact was such that all eight people died at the spot. Police was informed about the incident by locals. Also, the road on which the accident took place was under construction.
After receiving the information, police rushed to the spot and broke the windows to recover the bodies. Their relatives were also informed about the incident. Bodies were later shifted to Samrala civil hospital for post mortem. Driver of the truck, who has been named as the accused in the police complaint, is still at large.
