Dear Jane,

At the moment I am in Paris. I like it because it is a very beautiful city with wide streets, good shopping and lots of interesting places to see. It also has excellent restaurants and the people are relaxed and friendly.

The best part of Paris is on the banks of the River Seine. Here you can find interesting markets, and spend the day walking through crowds looking at the colourful stalls. There are lots of trendy cafes too.

The most interesting thing to do is to vising the Eiffel Tower. It is really impressive! I still remember the time I climber to the top. I walked up all the stairs! I was exhausted when I got to the last step, but the view was spectacular. You can see the whole city stretching out below you.

A good place to stay is in one of the hotels in the Les Halles area, where I am staying right now. They aren't terribly expensive and the rooms are good size and comfortable. It is the perfect base for a great weekend exploring the city!
