1. With the increasing concern for CO2 emissions, global warming, and climate change, it is important to understand that cars are one of the biggest problems we have regarding our safety and environment. Cars emit a lot of CO2, which is not only unsafe for the environment, but can impact our own health. It puts people at risk of asthma and other respiratory illnesses, by increasing temperatures beyond what we can endure.
While it is impossible for us to be fully independent of cars by this point, in order to limit the impact we have on our planet we must promote public transport and other means of transportation, such as bikes, or walking on foot. Increasing the usage of public transport lowers the usage of private vehicles, or cars. In order to promote public transport, we must ensure that it is accessible and useful, by designing routes and vehicles that can get more people at their destination in a faster time.
