Michael the Brave (b. 1558 , Târgu de Floci , Wallachia  – d.19 august 1601, Turzii Plain , Principality of Transylvania ) was lord of the Wallachia between 1593-1600. For a period (in 1600 ), he was the de facto ruler of the three medieval states that make up today's Romania : Wallachia, Transylvania and Moldova . Before reaching the throne, as a boyar, he held the offices of banișor de Strehaia , princely stolnic and ban of Craiova .
