Viitorul în engleză se poate exprima după cum urmează:

1. Danny is meeting Paul tomorrow – present continuous (exprimă o acţiune planificată).

2. Danny is going to meet Paul tomorrow – BE + going to (exprimă o intenţie personală).

3. Danny meets Paul tomorrow, it is Thursday – present simple (acţiune planificată, care are loc în mod regulat).

4. Danny will meet Paul tomorrow - future simple (exprimă certitudine).

5. Danny will be meeting Paul tomorrow – future continuous (exprimă o acţiune viitoare care va fi începută în momentul fixat).

Construcţii de tip "Future perfect" - exprimă o acţiune anterioară viitorului

6. Danny will have met Paul this time tomorrow. (Danny îl va fi întâlnit pe Paul mâine la vremea aceasta.)

7. Danny will have been meeting Paul this time tomorrow. (Danny îl va fi întâlnit pe Paul mâine la vremea aceasta. - forma continuă)
