Earth is the planet we live on. It is the third planet from the Sun. It is the only planet known to have life on it.
The Earth is the only planet in our Solar System that has a large amount of liquid water. Because of its water, the Earth is home to millions of species of plants and animals.
The Earth was very different in the distant past. Long ago, almost all land was in one place. This is called a supercontinent. Much later, there was a time when the Earth was almost entirely covered by thick ice sheets.
Without the Earth we have no where to live.
