Mount Sirius, thought to be dormant by experts, erupted at 3pm. smoke rising from the mouth of the volcano was seen by tourists two days before. The villagers were moved away from the are for their own safety by the police. Houses, roads and trees were wrecked by the tons of lava and rock coming out of the volcano. Although only a few people were physically injured by the blast, many are being treated for shock. The area surrounding Mount Sirius is being kept clear by the authorities in case of further activity.
