The movie is based on a true story of two lovers who met each other on a ship which was believed to be unsinkable. "Titanic", as the ship was called, began it's cruise on 10th of April 1912. A rich woman in her 20's ,called Rose DeWitt Bukater, met a young man almost the same age as hers named Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio). She was the fiance of Calledon Hockley (Billy Zane). They met each other several days, but right at the point they fell in love the ship hits an iceberg due to a sailing illusion, which seemed further than in reality. The ship believe to be unsinkable fails at proving the statement as the water fills 3/5 of the cilinders meant to avoid sinking. The ship starts sinking slowly as panic takes place on the inside. People started creating chaos and decided to evacuate children and women on saving boats. The two lovers couldn't escape and remain blocked on the ship. After some time, when almost all of the crew and guests were found frozen in the ocean or commited suicide, the two lovers manage to escape on a floating door. Jack remains in the freezing water to let Rose stay safe on top of the door. Later on, Jack dies in the frozen ocean and Rose is saved by a few members of the crew.
