1. In the year 1154, when Henry II became King of England, Canterbury Cathedral was the most religious center in the country.The Archbishop of Canterburry recommended Thomas Becket.

2-In a very short time the two became inseparable.

3-As time passed, Thomas became as rich as the King, if not richer.

4-Henry named him Archbishop of Canterburry, the highest religious position in the land. This turned Becket into another man,

5-Soon the two old friends found themselves in a antagonistic relationship.

6-Thomas wanted to protect the rights of the curch against the Crown. Things got so bad that finally Henry took all the Archbishop's possessions and exiled his family.

7-The king's violent words were misinterpreted by fout of his knights who, on the 29th of December, went directly to Vanterbury and cut Becket down whit their swords right on the steps of the altar.

8-Three years later, becket was made  a saint and people all over the world both famous and unknow, started to visit his tomb.
