"If you're not in fashion, you're nobody." That's what everyone seems to be saying nowadays, but does it really make sense?
Let's think about it, what even is fashion? It's a society-induced idea of what we should look like to be liked by others, not to mention it has nothing to do with being liked in reality. Fair said, people will compliment you on your clothes if you have the latest trend jeans or a nice jacket, but the people who know how to value you for your personality won't care about such things.
They'll see what's good and bad in you and you'll grow together, which means a lot more than some words you'll barely hear in the hallway during school breaks said by people who don't even matter to you. At the end of the day, you'll lay in bed and fall asleep with your problems, your dreams and ideas and the clothes you wore that day won't change anything.
So, to the ones who say that if you're not in fashion, you're nobody, I'd like you to know that you truly are nobody when you think such a superficial statement can be true.
