The best birthday present

It was my seventh birthday and also one of the best days of my entire life. I had just opened up the last of my presents and was thanking my family for all the gifts they had given me for my birthday. When I heard a bark and turned around to see my dad holding what would be my favorite birthday present that I ever received. It was my first dog, an Irish Setter named Scarlet.

This was also a great responsibility that my parents entrusted me to take care of. I had to feed her, keep her groomed, and of course teach her the correct way to act. My dad taught me that you always make sure that your dog is fed, before you feed yourself.

Thanks mom and dad for the best present i've ever had!!

teodoraGeniu: Scarlet was a very playful and stubborn puppy. She loved to run and chase anything that would move, including her tail and the neighbor’s cat. Although, a very playful and stubborn dog Scarlet was undoubtedly a very intelligent animal as well. She was completely house trained in under a week and learned how to play fetch in two weeks. Occasionally of course her playfulness turned our games of fetch into games of me chasing her around the yard trying to get the tennis ball back.
