holla mámá ,
I have arrived at a farm near San Francisco last week, but I haven't had time to write you.
The journey was hard, and it brakes my heart to have to tell you that not all who have left Mexico have made it. We had some deficultys with the guards: they were posted every 100 feet along the border, in groups of three! Not even the man whom I paid all my hard worked money to didn't expect so many. After jumping the fence, we had to run, ohh and how we run! One of the pairs spotted us and called immediately for back up. They chased us with big vans, all of them packed with guards and their big, deadly guns. Slowly, my friends were falling one by one on the hard floor, dead. Luckily, nothing bad happened to Rosa and me. She did hurt her leg while running, but I was there to catch her. We lost the other survivors, but I think they're all all right. Hopefully they found some safe day jobs like us, and earn enough to afford a meal.
