The flora of the Republic of Moldova, according to the latest data, counts almost 1540 species, which refer to 550 genera and 101 families. Quantitatively, palearctic species and plants characteristic of the flora of Europe predominate.
In the Republic of Moldova, two vegetation zones are distinguished: the steppe zone and the silvosteppe zone.
