WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE( 1564-1616) is the world's greatest poet and greatest dramatist, but we know very little about him.

Stratford-upon-Avon is Shakespeare's birth place. At the time of his life Stratford-upon-Avon was a flourishing market town of about 2000 people.

His father, Jhon Shakespeare , was a businessman. His mother's name was Mary Arden. She came from a local family.

We also know that Shakespeare attended King Edward VI Grammar School in Stratford, where he studied Latin, Rhetoric, History, and some Greek.

In 1582 he married Anne Hathaway. They had three children, Susanna, and the twins, Hamnet and Judith.
