Christmas traditions in Germany
In Germany, they have a special period called "Advent" -4 Sundays before Christmas.(this year it started on the 3rd December ) when they do special things related to Christmas. Every family, buys or makes a crown made out of miestletoe with 4 candles and 4 bows. Every Sunday , while one candle burns, the family drinks hot wine and eats ginger cookies after praying together to God and thanking Him for everything. Every Sunday, burns a different candle, and , in the 4th Sunday, all of them burn.German people also go to the church to sing Christmas carols and to pray with other people. In the Christmas Day, they give each other presents and enjoy the time that they are spending with their families .
