Hi – Internet user of the past !
My name’s Julia and I’m writing at 11:30 a.m. on April 1st, 2040. This is my first attempt at using the school’s time machine linked to e-mail so I hope it works.
Let me tell you about my daily routine. Thanks to technology, everything’s really easy! We’ve got a central computer at home. It knows all about my family’s habits and preferences, and it programmes all the other machines in out flat.
By now, the robomaid will have made my bed and tidied my room. I’ve never had to do these things myself! And by time I get home tonight, the bathroom computer will have run my bath just the way I like it, with lots of bubbles!
Then I’ll have to do my homework. That hasn’t changed, I’m afraid, but technology helps a lot!
I have to do a project on Ramses II for tomorrow. But by the time I’ve had my bath, my PC will have logged in a CD-ROM on the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. I’ll “visit” the museum and when I get to a room I’m interested in, the PC will read out the information. Then I’ll just make notes and write a first draft. The PC will edit it for spelling, grammar and style, and then print it and put it in a nice folder. (My teacher are very keen on good presentation!)
By the time I’ve put the project in my school bag, the robomaid will have made my dinner and the PC will have found an old film I like.
I’ve told it I’d like to watch an old Indiana Jones. I love putting myself into the film and changing the story. Of course I’m always the heroine!
Oh, I almost forgot! For next week I’ve got to do a project on the life of a teenager in the twentieth century. The trouble is I can’t find a CD-ROM about life then. Could you please key in a short autobiography and send it to me? My e-mail address is:
[email protected]. Just think, we’ll be the first people to communicate through time using a fibre-optic cable!

Buna- Utilizator din trecut al internetului!
Numele meu este Julia si scriu la ora 11:30 pe data de 1 aprilie 2040. Aceasta este prima mea incercare de a folosi masina timpului a scoii prin intermediul mailului asa ca sper sa functioneze. 
Lasa-ma sa-ti spun despre rutina mea zilnica. Datorita tehnologiei, totul este foarte usor! Avem un computer central acasa. Stie toate obiceiurile si preferintele familiei mele si programeaza toate celelate masinarii din apartamentul nostru. Pana acum, menajera-robot mi-a si facut patul si aranjat camera. Nu a trbuit niciodata sa fac aceste lucruri singura. Si pana cand ajung acasa in seara asta, computerul de baie va fi aranjat baia exact cum imi place, cu foarte multe bule!
Apoi va trebui sa-mi fac temele. Asta nu s-a schimbat, din pacate, dar tehnologia ajuta mult!
Trebuie sa fac un proiect despre Ramses al II-lea pana maine. Dar pana sa termin baia, calculatorul meu va fi deja logat intr-un CD-ROM in Muzeul Egiptean din Cairo. O sa "vizitez" muzeul si cand voi ajunge intr-o camera de care sunt interesata, calculatorul va prelua informatiile  Atunci eu doar voi lua notite si voi scrie un plan. Calculatorul il va edita la scriere, gramatica si stil apoi il va printa si pune intr-un folder dragut. (Profesorul meu e foarte doritor de prezentari bune!)
Pana cand imi voi fi pus proiectul in ghiozdan, menajera-robot, mi-a si facut cina, iar calculatorul va gasi un film vechi care imi place. 
I-am spus ca mi-ar placea sa vad un film vechi cu Indiana Jones. Iubesc sa ma pun intr-un film si sa schimb povestea. Bineinteles ca eu sunt mereu eroina!
Oh, aproape am uitat! Pentru saptamana viitoare am de facut un proiect despre viata adolescentilor din secolul 20. Problema este ca nu pot gasi un CD-ROM despre viata de atunci. Ai putea scurta tu intr-o mica autobiografie si sa mi-o trimiti? Adresa mea de mail este: [email protected]. Doar gandeste-te, noi vom fi primii oameni care vor comunica in timp prin intermediul cablului cu fibre optice!
