Henri Coandă (1886-1972) is considered the parent of the jet plane he first experienced in 1910, near Paris. But the invention that made him famous is the "Coanda effect". Coandă was born on June 7, 1886, in Bucharest, the son of General Constantin Coandă of the Frenchwoman Hayda Danet. Mathematics made his father move to the Military High School in Iasi, for a more severe education. There, the young Coandă becomes an exceptional and very passionate student of mathematics due to Lieutenant Ion Papură. He continues his studies at the Artillery School in Bucharest, and then he went to Germany at the Technische Hochschule in Charlottenburg where he obtained his doctorate in engineering sciences.In 1906, in Paris, he founded the Higher School of Aeronautics, to which Coandă enrolled and graduated as head of promotion. French Gustave Eiffel In 1910 he exhibited at his second Paris International Aeronautics Salon his turboprop, the first jet plane to fly to Yssy-les-Moulineaux.
