My hometown Strășeni is located in the central part of the Moldavian Republic, being also the capital city of one of the lands my country is divided into. It has a rather small population (about 20000 inhabitants), but we do cherish our tradition and so the town”s celebrations are held every year, on October 27th. There is also a river that flows through Strășeni - the river Bâc. The city also holds important cultural artifacts hosted by 2 libraries: The Culture Hall and The School of Arts. One of the greatest and most exciting events is the Republican Music and Poetry Festival that promotes the extraordinary poetry written by Mihai Eminescu. The „Cununa” Music Orchestra is also worthy of praise. It is relevant to emphasize the fact that the town is partly surrounded by the Moldavian Woods, whose historical significance emanates from the legendary oak-tree of Stephen The Great, that is over 500 years old. Last but not least, I shall mention the meaningful Saint Nicholas Church, a place of devotion and love, a symbol of the citizen”s faith and piety. Therefore, there are a lot of arguments for me to be proud and fond of my hometown, Strășeni!
